The department's programs are designed to create globally competent manpower for the information and communication technology industry, while equally preparing students for postgraduate education at the best universities across the world.
These twin objectives are met through an optimal mix of fundamental theory subjects and practical, current, industry-relevant coursework. Industry-oriented research, from day one
Department research gives students a chance to participate in turning ideas into research concepts and workable products. Starting from a single room with a small group of students, it has grown into a hub of ideas where a large number of students now work on independent and collaborative projects.
Projects run both independently and in collaboration with outside research institutes, funded by government organisations and industry alike. An active tradition of participation in technical events has produced publications in premier conference proceedings and leading journals — work that now lives across the department's seven research centers.
